'Mozhi' is a space between languages that enables meaningful conversations about literature from all parts of India. Regional literary voices often remain unheard outside their language boundaries. Through translations and thoughtful discourse, Mozhi hopes to spotlight significant voices across Indian languages. Here's an exciting collection of stories translated from Tamil, marking the first edition of Mozhi’s journey across Indian languages.
About The Author
Suchitra Ramachandran is a writer and translator. She writes fiction in Tamil and translates between Tamil and English. ‘The Abyss’, a translation of Tamil writer B.Jeyamohan’s novel ‘Ezhaam Ulagam‘ her first full-length translated work was published by Juggernaut Books in 2023. Priyamvada is an impact investor and literary translator, based in Chennai, India. Her first book-length translation, ‘Stories of the True‘, a translation of Tamil writer B. Jeyamohan’s short story collection ‘Aram‘, was selected under the South Asia Speaks mentorship programme for 2021. She was awarded the PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grant (2023) for her work-in-progress translation of ‘White Elephant'.
